Modified: 2009/06/04 16:47 by paddyxdoyle.
With many years experience in the colocation industry, The UK Grid Network Ltd is an expanding business, offering colocation and connectivity to customers throughout the UK and Europe. Founded in 2004, the business is situated on Manchester Science Park (Manchester) and currently has two data centres in its portfolio. Synergy House is a new tier2 facility offering high end colocation and Greenheys DC is a tier1 facility which has been very successful as a DR site and for start-up or companies on a budget.

Synergy House

Synergy House provides tier II data centre space and has a current capacity for 300 racks. The facility has its own HV supply and substation with backup Generators able to take the full load of the building should a mains power failure occur. Chloride energy efficient UPS systems provide N+1 uninterruptible power, and N+1 cooling is provided by Airedale HVAC systems. The facility has an FM200 and VESDA fire detection and suppression system.

In an effort to reduce the carbon foot print of the facility, UK Grid has opted to use Cold Aisle Containment to reduce the amount of power required for Cooling, and has deployed a near unity UPS system. A carrier neutral facility, 1 Synergy House is connected via a dark fibre ring which enables customers to benefit from a great choice of connectivity with tier1 and tier2 bandwidth, dark fibre, Metro and layer2 long reach services into London.
